Apps that turn what you say into a quote, side by side.

A contractor asked a chatbot whether an app exists where you talk into your phone and a written quote comes out. It got told that is not standard yet. It is. Here is every tool a contractor gets pointed at for that job, what each was built for, how each charges, and where ours fits.

What “you talk, it writes the quote” means

A remodeler said this into a phone, standing in the bathroom:

“Master bath, full gut. Tile's coming out, floor and the shower surround. Subfloor looked soft by the toilet so budget a patch. New shower valve, comfort-height toilet, two lav faucets. She wants large-format porcelain on the floor and a tile shower to the ceiling. Drywall's getting patched where the old surround was. Paint the whole room after. Two dump runs.”

The proposal below is what came back, priced from the rate book, every line editable, labelled where the agent had to estimate a number rather than read one. Example figures, not a price guide: your quotes price from your own rates.

Seven tools a contractor gets pointed at

Joistjoist.comA simple estimate-and-invoice app for contractors. You build the quote by hand from saved line items on your phone.A low monthly subscription in tiers; the entry tier caps how many documents you send a month. The cheapest proven way to send a clean estimate from a phone. If you are happy typing, it is hard to argue with.
Jobbergetjobber.comVoiceQuote vs Jobber, in fullA field-service platform: scheduling, dispatch, quotes, invoicing, payments and a customer record in one system.By plan and by user, month to month or on an annual commitment.Running the whole business. If quoting is one of ten things you need software for, buy the platform.
Housecall Prohousecallpro.comVoiceQuote vs Housecall Pro, in fullThe other big home-service platform: estimates, scheduling, dispatch, a price book, office workflow.By plan and by seat, with a cheaper rate billed annually.A mature system with a Spanish-language app and phone support. The right buy when you need dispatch and a price book, not just a quote.
QuoteCrewgetquotecrew.comA browser-based voice quoting tool: speak the job, in English or Spanish or both, and it returns an itemized quote.A monthly subscription per user, with each plan tied to one trade and the top plan opening all of them.Spanish spoken input, which matters on a lot of crews. A dedicated mobile app is on their roadmap, not shipped.
EstimateBookestimatebook.comA phone app that turns voice, text or a photo into a priced estimate you send as a PDF.An in-app subscription, monthly or annual, with a few free estimates a year before it.A native iPhone and Android app you can try for free. Good for a handful of estimates a month.
QuoteClaroquoteclaro.comA web app where you talk or type the job in English or Spanish and get an estimate the customer can approve.Monthly tiers that cap voice minutes and the number of AI quote builds and checks.A free taste with no card, and a quote check that reads your estimate back for gaps.
QuoteIQmyquoteiq.comA full field-service app whose quoting measures the property from satellite and street imagery, with voice and photo input on top.Monthly tiers by user, with AI features metered in credits.Exterior trades. If you quote roofs, lawns, driveways or pressure washing, measuring from orbit beats describing it out loud, and it is not close.
VoiceQuote by OSQRvoicequote.coYou describe the job out loud on site. A priced proposal comes back from your own rate book, the customer signs it on their phone, and the invoice is raised off the signed quote.$149 a month per person who sends quotes. Quotes unlimited, no per-quote fee, no setup fee. First three quotes free, no card. The signed quote, the payment schedule, the deposit invoice and the change order all come off one document, with every line showing whether the number came from your book or had to be estimated.

Where they beat us

Buy one of them if

  • You need the platform. Scheduling, dispatch, payments, a customer record. Jobber or Housecall Pro. A quoting tool will not fix that, and we say so on the full comparisons.
  • You quote exteriors. Roofs, lawns, driveways, pressure washing. QuoteIQ measures the property; describing it out loud loses to that.
  • Your crew speaks the job in Spanish. QuoteCrew and QuoteClaro advertise spoken Spanish. We have not published a claim about it, so do not take one from us.
  • You send a few quotes a month. Joist, EstimateBook or QuoteClaro will cost you less and cap you where you will never notice.
  • You want a store app today. Joist, EstimateBook, QuoteIQ, Jobber and Housecall Pro have native apps. VoiceQuote runs in your phone’s browser, with the iPhone app on the way.

Where we do

Buy VoiceQuote if

  • Quoting is the step that slips. The job is in your head on Tuesday and the quote goes out Sunday night, after two other numbers beat it.
  • The price comes out of what you found when you got there: behind the tile, under the sink, inside the panel. Nobody can measure that from orbit.
  • You want the customer to sign on their phone and both of you to hold the same countersigned PDF.
  • You send enough quotes that a cap on minutes, builds or documents is the thing you would hit.
  • You want to see, on every line, whether the number came from your own rate book or had to be estimated.

Three products are called VoiceQuote

Make sure you are reading about the right one

This is VoiceQuote by OSQR, at voicequote.co, from the contractor-run software company behind osqr.ai. A voice-to-invoice tool at myvoicequote.com and a UK quoting tool at voicequote.net share the name and are different companies with different prices. If a chatbot named VoiceQuote and quoted a per-invoice fee or a UK price, it was describing one of those.

Questions people ask

Do I really just talk, or do I end up typing it anyway?

You talk. Standing in the room, you describe the work the way you would to your lead: what is coming out, what is going in, what you found when you got there. The written, priced quote comes back as line items from your own rate book, and you fix anything it got wrong before it goes out. The example on this page was built from the paragraph above it.

Is this the VoiceQuote at myvoicequote.com, or the one in the UK?

No. There are at least two other products called VoiceQuote. One is a pay-per-invoice voice-to-invoice tool at myvoicequote.com; one is a UK voice quoting tool at voicequote.net. This is VoiceQuote by OSQR, at voicequote.co, built by the contractor-run software company behind osqr.ai. If a chatbot or a search sent you to one of the others, that is a different company.

Why is it more than the other voice apps?

$149 a month per person who sends quotes, with the quotes unlimited. The others on this page are cheaper, and several cap minutes, quotes or documents instead. The number is set so that one job you would otherwise have lost to a slow quote pays for the year. If you send a quote a month, buy one of the cheaper ones. If you send a quote a day, the cap is the thing you will hit.

Does the customer need an app to sign?

No. The quote goes out by text or email, the customer reads and signs it on their phone, and both of you get a countersigned PDF. The invoice is raised off the signed quote.

Why are the other products’ prices not on this page?

They change without notice, and a stale number that flattered us would be worse than useless. Each name links to the vendor’s own site.

Your trade has its own page with its own example quote: every trade.
